Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Gypsy Trails will be highlighting WTM WRTD 2012 with their responsible tourism bike expedition “Sea to Summit” across India, covering some 5000Kms.  During the expedition Gypsy Trails will be educating and making local people aware of responsible tourism, staying in home stays and arranging for locals to join the expedition in their region.

Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Fact Safaris will be highlighting the day by visiting a school in Dol Dol who have exhibited an outstanding commitment in their afforestation project. Fact Safaris will be at the school to motivate the students on the need for a sustainable environment and offering stationary to them all.

Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Travel 21fiftythree will be highlighting WTM WRTD by holding an expo on 7 November 2012.  This expo will be supported by their local Tourism body together with regional sustainable tourism operators to educate local participants in tourism about the benefits of sustainable tourism practices in their choice of holiday.

Supporting WTM WRTD for the first time this year, Columbia Eco Travel will be highlighting the day on their website together with an educational workshop about sustainable/responsible tourism that they will offer via the web to all tourism providers interested in Colombia.

Supporting WTM WRTD for a fifth year, Metropolitan Touring will be highlighting the day with the official opening of Mashpi Lodge in Ecuador’s Cloud Forest.  The Mashpi Project is deeply committed to the environment and the local population. Its management seeks to promote the conservation of this crucially-important ecosystem by working hand-in-hand with its surrounding communities, providing jobs and futures soundly set on a sustainable course.

Kushiland Expeditions & Tour Safaris Ltd are supporting WTM WRTD for another year.  This year they will be highlighting the day with their annual charity walk “Kilimanjaro - the Ultimate Challenge” to the roof of Mount Kilimanjaro.  The monies raised from this walk go to fund education programs in the villages surrounding the slops of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.

Footprint Vietnam Travel is supporting WTM WRTD for a fourth year.  They will be highlighting the day by asking all their tour guides, drivers, guests to take part in a “clean up hour” between 09.30 and 10.30 wherever they are travelling that day.

Supporting WTM WRTD for another year, Mandore Guest House organize volunteer programs and events to generate awareness among the local community and schools and they will be highlighting WTM WRTD by arranging a special event with the school and the local rural community.

Highlighting WTM WRTD for the second year, Market Vision have launched a new travel trade journal, Spotlight on Sustainable Tourism (SOST), this year which highlights best practices in sustainable tourism.  To highlight WTM WRTD they will be publishing a special issue in November.
