South Africa, Florida, The Gambia have formal agreed policies, Rwanda and Bhutan are still debating drafts. The policies can be found on aRTy downloads page on this site..
What do you think of the policies? Are there other examples? |

The introduction of national responsible tourism policies is a great step forward, these examples you have indicated here are very helpful guides for us all. What concerns me is that policies also have to be regularly reviewed. With the impact of climate change all parties need to consider adaptation plans now. From a recent report on US National Parks it appears Florida could be affected significantly. Climate Change Risk Mitigation and Adaptation Policies need to planned to protect the community, their environment (through connectivity programs for wildlife) and protecting their tourism income. I fear that Climate Change is very much a moving target and we now need to regularly review responsible tourism policies to that action can be taken at a local level.
